ABOUT 9-1-1 FOR KIDS
9-1-1 for Kids® is the official emergency caller training program created by US 9-1-1 communication center officials, emergency medical, fire and law enforcement professionals who were charged with the task of developing educational tools to help reduce the alarmingly high numbers of non-emergency calls made to 9-1-1.
The organization was established in 1994, and has uniquely distinguished itself as the only public safety education program to be endorsed and supported by: APCO International (Assn. of Public Safety Communications Officials); E-911 Institute; NENA (National Emergency Numbers Assn.); and NASNA (National Assn. of Nine-one-one Administrators).

IMPACT OF 9-1-1 FOR KIDS
The 9-1-1 for Kids® program has reached over five million children since its inception in 1994, and has helped to save thousands of lives and properties through preparing youngsters to know what to do in an emergency. The award-winning student tested and teacher approved 9-1-1 Caller Training classroom kit and educational support collateral is a comprehensive child-friendly presentation which teaches everyone: (1) When it’s OK to call 9-1-1; (2) How to dial 9-1-1; and (3) What to say to the 9-1-1 dispatcher.
EDUCATION THAT GETS RESULTS!
By educating children at an early age on how to use 9-1-1 correctly, youngsters can act quickly and confidently to obtain the necessary public safety or medical assistance they need to save lives and property, as well as teaching their siblings, family members, friends and neighbors. 9-1-1 for Kids® has proactively worked to decrease the incidence of accidental and prank 9-1-1 calls since its inception. The reduction not only has saved our government millions of dollars but has also helped to maintain the integrity of our 9-1-1 emergency network.
